How to Present your Work

November 8, 2012

I’m posting this partially because there’s a lot of valuable design theory, but I think what’s even more valuable is the lesson in how to present your work. Jonny Ive is the head of industrial design at Apple and he has an uncanny ability to speak about his work as larger-than-life. During our critique, we talked a bit about not diminishing your work, and I think Jonny Ive is an excellent example of that; nothing was done because ‘well, we couldn’t think of a better way.’ Everything is done because that was the absolute best way to do it. I think it’s a great lesson for us as we move into our next project and ultimately present something that we hope will make an impression on one another.
